Gramado Film Commission to be appointed during Connection

Commission aims to attract and encourage audiovisual productions in Gramado, generating a new market for the municipality

Gramado has been home to audiovisual productions for some time, as well as being famous for its prestigious Film Festival. Now the municipality is going further and taking an important step towards becoming an audiovisual hub with the creation of the Gramado Film Commission. The organization, which was recently formalized, will have its official appointment on May 12, during the 5th edition of Connection - an event taking place at the Palácio dos Festivais in Gramado.

A film commission is an organization that is dedicated to attracting and encouraging audiovisual productions in its area of operation. Gramado seeks to do just that, attract more productions and offer an increasingly favorable environment for the development of the audiovisual sector, strengthening Gramado as a destination for film productions and tourism.

According to Gramado's Secretary of Culture, Ricardo Bertolucci Reginato, once the Gramado Film Commission has been appointed, meetings will be held between the group to define the organization's operating criteria, as well as fundraising formats and incentives to be offered by the commission. Bringing the community closer to the audiovisual sector and offering more opportunities to residents are among the objectives.

"With the Film Commission we want to train and generate a market for those who work with audiovisuals in Gramado. We believe it can be a great link between the Film Festival and the Gramado community itself, which needs to take more ownership of this event and the legacy it can leave for the city. And when we bring an audiovisual production to the municipality, we are also bringing the possibility of people working in this segment being hired," Reginato said.

The Gramado Film Commission nomination ceremony is part of the Connection program, a content and experience event that will debate topics related to Cinema, Tourism and the Economy. More information at www.festurisgramado.com/connection.
