Canela's Colonial Festival and its diversity of attractions

In addition to the beautiful scenery, typical cuisine and artistic attractions, which take place daily from 12 noon, there will be a gastronomic workshop in partnership with the University of Caxias do Sul - UCS. Sausage stuffed with polenta and capeletti with colonial cheese sauce will be the dishes prepared at the event by chefs Anita Sales and Augusto Sthalty, under the guidance of professor and chef Katia Souza. Anyone can take part, with no need to register in advance. The workshops will take place on the following Thursdays, the 21st and 28th, at 4pm.

Sunday 24th will be marked by the 22km cycle ride, with lots of greenery, climbs and descents and farms that will open their gates to welcome the participants and show them how they live and how they look after their produce. Registration is open at www.canela.com.br/pedal and anyone can take part. Departure is scheduled for 8:30 am, in front of the Information Center, in João Corrêa Square.

On the 30th, at 5pm, at the Multipalco in Praça João Corrêa, the new court of the Colonial Festival will be chosen. Girls between the ages of 16 and 26 who live in the city can take part in the contest. Registration is open until the 24th, at https://canela.com.br/soberanas23/. The current sovereigns - Julia Gabrielle Trein Dornelles, from Linha São João and Jullia Raiane de Moraes Martins, from Linha Rancho Grande - say that the collection of good times and love for the countryside sum up their reign.

Potato and manioc dumplings, pasta, breaded and stuffed bread, cucas of the most diverse flavors, pasta, pine nuts and dishes with the seed, jellies and award-winning cheeses are some of the delicacies available to the public at the Colonial Festival.

The Colonial Festival, which is free to enter, is organized by the City Council/Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, the Secretariat of Works, Emater and the Rural Workers' Union, with the support of Sicredi Pioneira - 120 years and the collaboration of Cervejaria Farol.
